Metallica Launch Fan Tournament To Pick The Band's Best Song

A couple of weeks on from Kerrang!'s ranking of their 20 greatest songs, Metallica have launched a bracket tournament for fans to have their say on what the band's best track is.

James, Lars, Kirk and Rob have just unveiled #SomeKindOfBracket, in which 64 of their songs are pitted against each other via daily match-ups to determine an ultimate winner. Explaining how they paired the tracks, Metallica say: "In case you’re curious, brackets were seeded based on Spotify plays multiplied by how many times a song’s been played live."

And there are some interesting initial match-ups, with huge singles like Enter Sandman, Master Of Puppets and Seek & Destroy facing Confusion, Dyers Eve and Ain't My Bitch respectively.

"BAT-TERY GO!" Metallica say. "It’s time for your fav Metallica songs to go head to head in #SomeKindOfBracket. Vote on daily match-ups in our Instagram stories and on Facebook until we crown the champ."

The first round of voting has kicked off now and will run until June 4, with 32 songs then making it on to the next bracket. Check it out below:
