Metallica Played On Guitar In The Last Of Us Part 2

If there's one thing the lockdown has given us, it's time. We have so much time now. Some people are using it to learn a new skill, write a novel or just generally trying to enrich their lives… but some are using this period in other more creative ways.

Twitch streamer KnotsWithFoxy has been using his time to master the art of playing guitar. But not just any six-string; the acoustic guitar of Ellie in The Last Of Us Part 2.

During the game, Ellie is given a guitar to play, and using your PS4 controller, you're able to piece together chords and fingerpicking into something resembling a song. Sounds like a lot of effort and most players don't bother actually trying to play a recognisable tune, but KnotsWithFoxy has recreated Metallica's iconic Nothing Else Matters in the game.

"This is the best one of nothing else matters I’ve seen," commented YouTuber Mythic.

"Meanwhile when I play the guitar in game I just make random noises that sound like shit," added Xanoft 1011.

You can watch the full, genuinely impressive performance below.

And while Nothing Else Matters is a great song, it's not the best Metallica track according to fans. Last week, the results of the epic Instagram tournament to crown the greatest Metallica song ever were revealed, with 1986's Master Of Puppets coming out on top.

“The people have spoken and single song stands alone above the rest,” announced Metallica. “Your champion is – drum roll please – Master Of Puppets!

“Along the way it defeated Dyers Eve, Atlas, Rise!, Ride The Lightning, Sad But True, and Fade To Black and One in head to head match-ups… no wonder that thing is in the Library of Congress! Thanks for playing along with us!"
