My Chemical Romance Started Teasing Their Reunion Five Years Ago

Since the premiere of A Summoning… on January 29, My Chemical Romance's incredible 13-minute short film announcing their U.S. tour has been viewed over a million times – not just by fans intrigued as to what it's all about, but also by eagle-eyed members of the MCRmy who want to pick apart the many detailed references contained within.

And while the band had previously revealed to fans that they had gotten together back in 2017 "to see what would happen", a new detail spotted in the video makes it look as though their epic comeback was possibly even planned two years before that – on July 6, 2015.

You see, the spooky Ouija board that features predominantly in A Summoning… was actually cryptically teased by frontman Gerard Way on Twitter almost five years ago, confusing fans at the time given that it came more than two years after My Chem's break-up on March 22, 2013.

Of course, you could argue that the band had alluded to their spectacular 2019 live comeback at The Shrine in Los Angeles given that their 2010 album Danger Dangers followed a fictional storyline set in California in 2019. But even so, this Ouija board is another amazing little detail that shows just how deep into the rabbit hole it's possible to go with this band.
