Nirvana, AC/DC, IDLES and Biffy Clyro in top 40 list of UK's best-selling vinyl records of 2020

The top 40 best-selling vinyl albums and singles of 2020 have been announced, with sales climbing for a 13th consecutive year.

The best-selling vinyl albums and singles of the year have been revealed by the Official Charts Company (OCC), with a mix of older, classic LPs and 2020 releases featuring throughout the respective lists of 40.

Nirvana's Nevermind and Unplugged In New York both place in the top 40 albums, and they're joined by new albums by AC/DC (POWER UP), IDLES (Ultra Mono) and Biffy Clyro (A Celebration Of Endings).

In terms of singles, meanwhile, Motörhead's Ace Of Spades was the 17th best-selling vinyl single of 2020, Biffy's Cop Syrup and Royal Blood's Trouble's Coming place at 20 and 21 respectively, and the Scottish trio's cover of The Modern Leper by Frightened Rabbit is at 25.

Excitingly, the OCC report that "sales of vinyl records climbed for a 13th consecutive year in the UK in 2020", with an impressive jump of 11.5% year-on-year to 4.8million.
