Oh, Give Over: Foo Fighters Team Up With Rick Astley At Japanese Festival
Foo Fighters have a “new best friend” in the shape of 1980s blue-eyed-soul singer Rick Astley, who joined the band on stage at Japan’s Summer Sonic festival for a more-amplified-than-usual version (hmm, smells a little teen spirited, eh?) of his 1987 UK number one, Never Gonna Give You Up.
The official Foo Fighters Facebook and Twitter accounts both posted a picture of frontman Dave Grohl with Astley after the show, with the caption “new best friend” and a URL to that same effect directing to YouTube footage of the unlikely performance.
Props to the comment beneath the post, reading: “Bout to get Rock Grohl’d”. Very good, @weoysterfighter. Very good.
