Ozzy Osbourne Will Release A New Album In January Says Sharon
After reiterating that Ozzy had had “a very, very bad accident this year” but that he’s “getting there”, Sharon broke the news. “He’s just finished an album,” she said, “and the album is coming out in January.”
There’s not much information about said record just yet, although back in August Ozzy revealed he had nine song ideas that would end up on a record called Recuperation. He was probably joking, but you never know with him.
Ozzy, of course, postponed a number of dates on his No More Tours II farewell tour, after falling at home in January while recovering from a bout of pneumonia.
While he has postponed his 2020 European tour, he’s still set to embark on a U.S. tour in May next year. And although Sharon stated in the interview that Ozzy will fulfil those commitments, she did say that he won’t be going on the road much afterwards, and that he “won’t do any more touring.”
That doesn’t mean he’s retiring from playing live, however, and when asked about a Las Vegas residency, Sharon admitted that isn’t out of the question.
“We’ve definitely thought about it, yeah,” she said.
Sharon has been a staunch defender of Ozzy in recent months, lashing out at tabloids, including one that said he was on “a crazy train to death”.
“I’m not lost for words a lot, as you all know,” she said, “but why do people just say this was true? How cold and callous are those headlines? Where’s people’s empathy? It’s not true, by any stretch of the imagination.
“I’ve been open with everyone and so has Ozzy. He had a terrible, terrible bout of bad luck with his health, one thing after another. And then after his fall that he had, it’s been awful for him.
“But he’s getting better. He’s recuperating. Why be like, ‘He’s on a crazy train…’ How disrespectful to anyone. Ozzy ain’t going nowhere.”
Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s eldest daughter Aimée has released a new single, House Of Lies.
