Palaye Royale Have Covered Tears For Fears’ Classic Mad World
Palaye Royale are keeping the music coming right now, sharing a brand-new cover of Mad World following the release of their May 2020 album The Bastards.
The trio – brothers Remington Leith (vocals), Sebastian Danzig (guitar) and Emerson Barrett (drums) – have given Tears For Fears’ 1982 classic a fresh update, starting off in the haunting manner of the original but then spinning it in their own unique way by the end.
Given the lyrical honesty of The Bastards, it’s no surprise to hear Palaye tackling the bleak Mad World.
“We need a little honesty and a little truth,” says Remington. “The world is getting so tainted by everyone trying to be so fucking perfect and so goddamn PG and trying to walk this line of not trying to of end anyone. People need to be themselves, just for 20 minutes at least.”
