Polyphia’s New Video Is A Sexy, Psychedelic Nightmare

We don’t know exactly what’s going on in the new video by Texan experimental savants Polyphia, but we’re 100% here for it.

It’s pretty widely regarded, at least by the band, that Polyphia’s music is the greatest sonic innovation since Turkey In The Straw. But now the Dallas, Texas, quartet have decided that Earth alone isn’t enough for them, and in the mind-blowing new video for their track Look But Don’t Touch featuring Los Angeles-based singer Lewis Grant, they decide to conquer Heaven, Hell, the Weed Cosmos, and network TV in what feels like a mugging of the subconscious.

The video, featuring one of the band’s patently crunchy jams played to rhythms the human brain wasn’t meant to comprehend, starts pretty much as you imagine it: the band see the light, and go to a paradise filled with strippers, cocaine, and neon wieners. But when an angel feeds the dudes a bad batch of detergent pods, things go horribly awry. All of this occurs in the first minute of the video, which gives you a pretty good idea of how the rest of it turns out.

Watch Polyphia’s Look But Don’t Touch below and secretly worry this band is reading your mind:

Polyphia’s New Levels New Devils is out now on Equal Vision Records.

If your brain hasn’t melted and dripped out of your ears while watching that video, you can catch the band live on their headlining tour, which kicks off tonight in New Orleans.
