Rammstein To Re-Release Their Live In Berlin DVD With Previously Censored Footage

Rammstein’s Live In Berlin DVD is finally getting the uncensored release it deserves

German industrialists Rammstein have announced that they will be re-releasing their infamous Live In Berlin DVD next week.

While the globe sits inside patiently, waiting for the opportunity to watch a gig in the flesh once more, Rammstein are bringing the sweat and the spittle direct to your home.

Get ready for the re-release of Live aus Berlin – Rammstein’s iconic Berlin concert in August of 1998!” said the band on Facebook. “Enjoy this concert-film, including the previously censored rendition of Bück dich!”

The live performance of Bück dich wasn’t included in the original DVD release in 1999, although it did feature on the VHS version. Why was it banned? Well, in now-traditional controversial Rammstein fashion, the band mimed having anal sex onstage by using a dildo that squirts water. Hardly horrifying by today’s standards, but upon its release the live concert movie was given an 18-rating and the song was banned from the DVD release.

The new DVD will be released on March 27. You can pre-order Live In Berlin from the Rammstein Shop.

Rammstein are still scheduled to bring their larger-than-life live show to Europe this summer before headlining their first North American stadium tour this fall. The full list of dates are below:
