Julia Of Ratboys Gets Indie-Punk Right On New Track

The Windy City’s finest are hitting their stride.

Chicago’s Ratboys are fucking wicked. Earlier in the year, the duo comprised of vocalist Julia Steiner and guitarist David Sagan put on an indie-punk masterclass earlier this year with their album GN and now they’ve released a previously unheard version of one of Julia’s solo tracks, Light Pollution.

The song itself is a floaty demonstration of Julia’s impeccable knack for melody, driven by heavy wristed acoustic guitar and lyrics reminiscent of Built To Spill’s fantastical daydreaming. This version fits brilliantly as a follow up to GN’s wistful melancholia and will tide us over perfectly until we get a chance to see the band in the UK.

Go pick this up: get yer physical, one-time cassette tape pressing here and yer digital download here.

Also, seriously, go and check out GN.
