Svalbard Release Intense Live Video For Revenge Porn

Exclusive: Watch Svalbard’s new video for Revenge Porn, taken from their latest album It’s Hard To Have Hope

Bristol blackened hardcore mob Svalbard have released a new video for their track Revenge Porn.

Taken from their latest album It’s Hard To Have Hope, Revenge Porn calls out the hypocrisy of victim blaming and slut shaming in cases of nudes or videos being leaked and shared.

There’s an undeniable element of slut shaming within the spiteful act of sharing revenge porn,” vocalist Serena Cherry tells Kerrang!. “A person trustingly sends nudes to another, but the attitude seems to be that the sender is viable for public shame if the photos get leaked.

But surely the person who is breaking their trust, sharing their nudes, should be the one who is treated with disgust? Why is the victim the one being punished? And don’t even get me started on the close-minded argument that ‘If you don’t want nudes leaked, don’t take them in the first place.’

Talk about self-censoring out of fear!,” she continues. “With this logic, you could argue, ‘If you don’t want your words twisted by others, then don’t speak, ever.’

People who take nude photos are not responsible for the careless actions of their exes who want to shame and destroy the person they no longer date. It’s time to stop blaming the victims and hold the perpetrators accountable.”

Before they start work on their new album, Svalbard are heading out on tour across Europe with Victims plus the UK and Europe with Envy.
