The Outlaw Torn Voted The Most Underrated Metallica Song

Metallica’s 1996 track The Outlaw Torn has been voted as their most underrated song

Tonight, the Kerrang! presents the Hardwired… And Early Dayz exhibition – a celebration of Metallica’s legacy, as told through the pages of Kerrang! magazine, memorabilia, rare photography and much more.

Running from June 18 to September 1, the special exhibition takes place at the House Of Vans in London, and will be soundtracked by Metallica’s most underrated tunes – as picked by you. We held a public for for fans to vote for the Metallica track they think is the most underrated, which will then be turned into a playlist to soundtrack the exhibition. And we can now reveal that The Outlaw Torn has been named the most underrated Metallica song of all time, receiving most votes from thousands of fans. In fact, four tracks from the band’s 1996 album Load made it into the top 10, and even one track from the divisive St. Anger album.

The top 10 most underrated Metallica songs of all time

1. The Outlaw Torn (Load, 1996)
2. Bleeding Me (Load, 1996)
3. Fixxxer (Reload, 1997)
4. Dyers Eve (…And Justice For All, 1988)
5. Disposable Heroes (Master Of Puppets, 1986)
6. Escape (Ride The Lightning, 1984)
7. The Unnamed Feeling (St. Anger, 2003)
8. Trapped Under Ice (Ride The Lightning, 1984)
9. Hero Of The Day (Load, 1996)
10. King Nothing (Load, 1996)

The full, extended playlist will soundtrack all of the Kerrang! x House Of Vans Metallica celebrations. Along with the Hardwired… And Early Dayz exhibition starting tonight, on June 19 and 20 Metallica are holding a pop-up shop for exclusive Pushead shirts and hoodies, a Metallica x Dogtown limited edition board, Enter Night pint glasses and much more.

Plus on June 19 we’ll be holding the UK premiere of thrash documentary Murder In The Front Row for lucky competition winners. And from June 18, Metallica’s own Enter Night pilsner will be available to buy from House Of Vans.

We’ll see you there!
