There’s An Announcement From The Longshot Coming This Week

Billie Joe Armstrong’s The Longshot are up to something…

It’s been an entire year since we heard anything from The Longshot – Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong’s latest side-project.

Now, though, it looks like the band – completed by fellow Green Day musician Jeff Matika on bass and vocals, David S. Field on drums, and Kevin Preston on guitar – are up to something once more, having teased on Instagram that there’s a “little announcement comin this week from the ’Shot”, alongside a photo taken from a gig of some drums and a what looks like a small snippet Billie Joe, and then a graphic with their song Cult Hero playing over the top of it. But what does it mean?

The first photo could imply they’ll be touring or playing shows again soon – although given that Billie Joe is also working on new Green Day songs, he might be too busy. Then again, having only performed with The Longshot in America last year, could now be the time that the foursome head overseas for a holiday and play for fans outside of the States? Let’s hope so…

Stay tuned for more news when we have it.
