Tool Add Roman Numerals For 2019’ To Their Logo On Facebook

Fans went nuts today when Tool added MMXIX’ to their logo on Facebook, pretty much confirming their new album will drop this year.

If Tool aren’t dropping their long-awaited fifth full-length album this year, then they’re trolling their fans especially hard. Today, the band posted a new version of their logo on Twitter, this time with the Roman numerals MMXIX, with spell out 2019.

Take a look at the new logo below:

Fans have obviously freaked out about this post, which seems to confirm that 2019 will be the year we finally get a new Tool album…but there has still been no official announcement of the album so far.

Frontman Maynard James Keenan has already confirmed that Tool’s new album will drop this summer, but that was of course after he falsely announced it would be out this April.

Talking to Kerrang! about his inherent impatience with projects, Maynard said, It’s a balance. You have to understand what has to be done. There are certain things you have to push, and certain things you have to get through – shovelling through the snow on the driveway so you can get to where you need to be. And then you go and enjoy a movie or relax with your friends. But I can’t do that until I’ve put the work in.”

If you want to scream, When’s the new album coming out?” at Maynard live, make sure to see Tool perform at one of the following dates:
