Tool Release New Song Fear Inoculum

Stop whatever you're doing and listen: Tool have released brand new music. It has finally happened. Their first new studio material in 13 years is finally here and waiting for you below. To be honest, we're not going to do anything else with our day other than listen to this on repeat, and we suggest you do the same.

Fear Inoculum is the title-track from Tool's long-awaited fifth album – the follow-up to 2006's 10,000 Days. Some thought this day would never come, but those people were idiots.

Frontman Maynard James Keenan recently revealed why the album has taken so long. Speaking on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, he said: “The four of us are a lot of fucking work, just to get anywhere, oh my God. Everything’s a fucking committee meeting and it always gets shut down.

“[The hurdle is] success. When you get successful, you think you’re right about everything and you’re pretty sure as that individual: ‘I am right and you are wrong, because I’m successful and we’re successful because of me, not because of you.’ It’s not that bad with us, but there’s a dynamic of, like, ‘I want this and I’ve always gotten my way and that’s why we’re successful, because I don’t compromise on this or that.’ I’m the same way. I’m totally the same way.”

Listen to Fear Inoculum below.

It's been a busy few weeks for Tool, as they prepare to release album number five at the end of the month.

Last week, their music was finally added to all major streaming services, and their 2001 album Lateralus became the most downloaded album on iTunes.

They also shared the new album art on Instagram.

Fear Inoculum will be released August 30 via Music For Nations/Sony Music.
