Not for the first (or even second, third, fourth or fifth…) time, twenty one pilots' 2015 album Blurryface has made headlines for amassing some quite frankly jaw-dropping streaming numbers.
While the duo's fourth LP was recently – and rightly – given the title of Biggest Rock Album Of The Decade, Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun have just achieved yet another amazing statistic: Blurryface has now surpassed a whopping four billion streams on Spotify alone (so that's not even including all the millions of views the band have also hit on YouTube etc).

As Chart Data, the company who tweeted the news, point out, the record "remains the most streamed album by a group of all time". It's hard to imagine if it'll ever be topped at this point, tbh.
twenty one pilots' fifth album, the brilliant 4K-rated Trench, was released back in 2018.
Discussing its potential follow-up while on the epic Bandito Tour early last year, Tyler told Kerrang! that he was open to formulating ideas for album number six on the road – but that it didn't mean a new LP would be arriving anytime soon.
“I’m always working on songs,” he said. “What I’m doing right now is really just collecting a lot of ideas and a lot of sounds. We have the ability to bring recording gear around the world with us, and so the instruments are there, the tools are there, the resources are the and the inspiration is there. So we’re just kind of collecting ideas right now.
“If anything, writing is tough for me on the road, just because of the logistic reason of vocal rest, and needing to take a break in between shows so that my throat can recover. There’s always going to be a bit of limitation to what it is we’re able to write on the road, just because we’re trying to recover from each night of playing. So we’re not sure what our strategy is, except that while we’re touring, we’re going to make sure that we have a basin to catch all of the cool ideas that may come to us as we’re performing.”
