Watch Dave Grohl Cover Adele Onstage With His Daughter
As part of a special benefit set supporting the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital over the weekend, Dave Grohl performed a cover of Adele’s When We Were Young with his daughter, Violet.
The Foo Fighters frontman told the crowd before their duet: “I remember her saying, ‘Dad, you’re not even the best singer in the family’ – and she’s right!”
What a brilliantly talented family, eh?
When Kerrang! caught up with Dave last year for Foo Fighters’ Concrete And Gold cover feature, we asked him about his daughters following in his musical footsteps.
“Their lives are just surrounded with music, there’s music in the house all day long, they have their own record players in their bedrooms, they love to listen to everything from Imagine Dragons to The Beatles,” he revealed. “It’s a big part of their life. But you have to imagine as a kid – as a child of someone that does this for a living – that their perspective might be little different to most other people. So they know how unglamorous it is, but they also know how incredibly rewarding it can be, too. I’m surely not pushing them into the world of music, but they’ve got it in them already – it’s just a matter of deciding if they actually want to do it.”
Foo Fighters will return to the UK in the summer when they play three huge stadium shows in London and Manchester.
Those dates look like this:
19 Manchester Etihad Stadium
22 London Stadium
23 London Stadium

The Foo Fighters singer has announced that he will play “quarantine Santa” to American families.
“We have made the difficult decision to postpone the remainder of our previously announced spring 2020 performances,” say the band.
