Watch Matt Heafy’s Acoustic Cover Of Spiders By Slipknot

Trivium’s Matt Heafy takes on Slipknot’s creepy hit Spiders

Trivium frontman Matt Heafy just loves jamming out those covers, doesn’t he? It feels like every other day he’s managed to master another song in record time and played it live on Twitch, just to rub in how bleedin’ talented he is (we’re not jealous, honest).

And now he’s recorded an acoustic version of Spiders, a standout track from Slipknot’s latest album We Are Not Your Kind.

In fact, this isn’t even Matt’s first Slipknot cover of the year, this is the third Heafy reimagining from WANYK. We had his version of Unsainted in May, followed by Solway Firth in July.

While the original version has an inherent creepiness and John Carpenter feel to the keys, Matt’s remix adds a brooding, folky twist. Check it out below.

Slipknot are yet to unleash Spiders in their live set, but guitarist Jim Root recently said he’d be keen to play We Are Not Your Kind in its entirety at some point. And to be fair, love to see that!

And if you want to see The ‘Knot live, catch them at one of the dates below next year. Get your tickets now.
