Watch twenty one pilots’ vibrant performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
Though they’re no doubt missing the road and being able to put on their always-incredible live shows at the moment, twenty one pilots brought all that energy to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon over the weekend with a brilliant performance of Shy Away.
Tyler Joseph, Josh Dun and their live band embraced the colourful aesthetics of new album Scaled And Icy as they were surrounded by a swirling pastel set and bright lights for the performance of the album’s lead single, as the frontman danced all over the place and unleashed an almighty scream (which the YouTube comments are all seemingly very excited by).
And there could be much more of the same to come, too, as Tyler told Kerrang! in May that he’d been writing new music beyond Scaled And Icy.
“Usually when we’re done working on a record I feel completely burnt out; I’ve put everything into it that I have, and I’m done with writing, done with music, for however long,” he said. “And on this one, for some reason – maybe it’s because I know that we’re not going to go out and play shows – after finishing it, I didn’t feel that same burnt-out feeling. And I’ve actually continued to create, even after. I’m still writing and excited about music. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing… hopefully it’s just a good thing!”

Tyler Joseph performed an absolutely beautiful one-two of Heathens and Trees during twenty one pilots’ incredible Livestream Experience earlier this year – watch it now.
Another fragile dose of new Sleep Token ahead of their album next week.
