Weezer Release New Video For California Kids

Weezer have unveiled a brilliant brand new video

The undisputed kings of geek rock, Weezer, have given us another taste of their new self-titled album (already being christened as The White Album, given the cover). California Kids is the opening track from the record – which is due for release on April 1st .

The video is a bit special, too, given that it explicitly references the album’s previously released videos for Thank God For Girls and King Of The World. It turns out the bloke eating the cannoli and running around the beach WAS RIVERS ALL ALONG!

You can check out the video for California Kids below, and don’t forget to leave us your comments!

Speaking about The White Album on Weezer’s official site, Rivers Cuomo writes: “This album was inspired by my experiences hanging around the Westside of Los Angeles, which has been our home since Weezer began. Hanging out with people in Venice and Santa Monica, the beach, the Hare Krishnas, the Sikh on roller blades with the guitar, girls on Tinder within a 4 mile radius, seeing other bands, etc. I would just tweet out “does anybody wanna hang?” and then I’d get together with people who responded and talk about life. I love California. I wanted the album to have a Beach Boys sort of vibe to make you feel like you were there with us SoCal weirdos even if you’re in Milwaukee in December.

The full tracklisting of Weezer (aka ‘The White Album’) is as follows:

01 California Kids
02 Wind in Our Sail
03 Thank God for Girls
04 (Girl We Got A) Good Thing
05 Do You Wanna Get High?
06 King of the World
07 Summer Elaine and Drunk Dori
08 L.A. Girlz
09 Jacked Up
10 Endless Bummer

Weezer play Manchester Academy on April 3rd and O2 Academy Brixton on April 5th.
