You Me At Six Frontman Josh Franceschi: "These 10 Years Have Really Flown By"

On November 21, You Me At Six will kick off a 15-date tour, where they'll be revisiting their 2008 debut Take Off Your Colours at select dates.

Vocalist Josh Franceschi reveals that it came as a surprise to discover that their first full-length has resonated with fans on such a scale.

“I didn’t think we would still be talking about Take Off Your Colours [all this time later]," he says in the latest issue of the magazine. "There were a few years where we didn’t play anything from it in our sets at all, but after we played [lead single] Save It For The Bedroom recently, we could see how the rooms were reacting to it. And we were thinking that no-one gave a shit. So that’s why we put this tour on sale, because it’s fundamentally about the people, and those songs have a legacy and they’ve allowed us to continue doing what we do. And now we’ve recently put out our sixth record, 10 years after we started out. We’re still getting shit that we’re just not expecting at all. These 10 years have really flown by…”

Josh says that the quintet have had to dig out the album to re-learn a chunk of the album which was never performed the first time around.

"The song Call That A Comeback, for example, we’ve never played at all," he says. "It’s mad. And then there’s also stuff that we haven’t played for about 10 years, so it’s been quite strange to revisit them. I don’t think we knew how important this record might’ve been to people until we put these shows on sale, because we were young dickheads just doing it and not really paying attention to what was going on around us at the time. And now more than five people want to come and see these songs live!”
