In the past year, Tool have cemented themselves as one of the biggest bands on the planet, releasing a #1 album, winning a GRAMMY and headlining arenas across the globe. A lot of that success is due to their dedicated fan base, who the band find ways to give back to regularly. Case in point, while on tour in Australia, bassist Justin Chancellor gave a fan a free ticket to Tool’s February 18 show at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney.

Reddit user Gashchief said that his friend, a huge Tool fan, met Justin in Sydney. The fan told Justin that he hadn’t been able to get a ticket to the show since he’s a struggling musician. Justin then asked for the fan’s name, and got him a ticket for the show -- which was coincidentally the same show where Tool gave their GRAMMY-winning track 7empest its live debut.

“met Justin Chancellor while walking around the quay area,” the fan said in a Facebook post Gashchief uploaded to Reddit. “I told him I didn’t have the chance to get a ticket this time round cos I’m a struggling muso lad… so he asked for my name and organised me a free one.”

“It's nice to see sometimes that our hero's are actually incredibly kind humans as well,” Gashchief added.
