Avril Lavigne and Tony Hawk team up for Sk8er Boi video on TikTok

Avril Lavigne has made her TikTok debut with real-life Sk8er Boi Tony Hawk, and it is absolutely perfect.

Avril Lavigne has just joined TikTok and sent the internet absolutely wild with the perfect nostalgic pop-punk video.

The 36-year-old threw things back to 2002 with her classic Let Go mega-hit Sk8er Boi, joining forces with real-life skater boy (or skater man, as he calls himself) Tony Hawk to lip sync to the pop-rock banger, before filming Tony performing some tricks on a ramp overlooking the ocean. The joyous video was done for National Skateboarding Day (June 21), with Avril also plugging Tony's The Skatepark Project on her Instagram stories.

As well as the proper TikTok video, Tony also shared an amusing behind-the-scenes clip of Avril skating (and falling) on the ramp, writing: "Breaking news: Sk8er Boi singer learns skating move from old Sk8ter Man."

In February, Avril confirmed that her upcoming pop-punk album was finished – and there's new music on the way.

“It’s done!" she wrote to a fan. "Music coming soon. For sure summer."

The musician had previously been in the studio with MOD SUN, producing titan John Feldmann and the pop-punk prince of 2020, Machine Gun Kelly.
