Corey Taylor on Slipknot’s upcoming tour: “You’re gonna see some songs that haven’t been played live in a very long time”

Corey Taylor has promised that on Slipknot’s Knotfest Roadshow, the band will be playing “some old-school sh*t” and “stuff that people have been asking for for a long time”.

It's no secret that Slipknot are planning to drop a brand-new album in 2022, but for their upcoming Knotfest Roadshow in America, the Iowa titans will also be celebrating their entire discography.

In a Q&A session at the Mad Monster Party convention, frontman Corey Taylor promised a setlist for these shows that would include "some old-school shit", and "stuff that people have been asking for for a long time".

"I will tell you this: you’re gonna see some songs that haven’t been played live in a very long time, straight-up," the singer revealed. "I just redid the set, and we’re dusting some stuff off, and we’re bringing out not only some old-school shit, but stuff that people have been asking for for a long time. I’m gonna make them play it." YES!

At the start of February, Corey confirmed that Slipknot's next album was "in the process of being mixed".

"Everything is finished, so it's just being mixed right now, which is rad news," he enthused. "So it's probably gonna take… I think it's probably gonna be another three months [before it is released].

"The artwork's done. We just came up with the title. I'm not gonna tell you it right now. But we're really stoked. So hopefully three months from now – well, less than that – we'll get the single out, and then three months from now we'll get the album out."
