Fall Out Boy announce 15th anniversary vinyl edition of Folie à Deux… with a blue cover

Fall Out Boy will be celebrating 15 years of their fourth album with… wait for it… Folie à Bleu!

Fall Out Boy have just unveiled details of a special 15th anniversary vinyl edition of Folie à Deux.

The Chicago legends’ divisive 2008 fourth album will be getting the birthday treatment not only in the form of a vinyl edition of the record and a new merch run, but as the band themselves say, for some reason this 2023 vinyl version of Folie also now has a blue cover. As such, they’ve cleverly called it Folie à Bleu!

“The label changed the color of the album cover to blue without asking us and we didn’t want it all to go to waste,” say FOB. “Only 2,500 of these were pressed. once they’re gone, they’re gone! The vinyl along with Folie à Deux anniversary merch will drop on Monday, the 11th at 9:30am PST.”

A couple of years back (pre-So Much (For) Stardust), we asked Pete Wentz to rank FOB’s albums, and he reflected on Folie à Deux that, “People worry that we don’t like this record, but I like it. It was a special one. We stepped out on it, but maybe we stepped out a little too far, looking back. It happened during this crazy sonic departure in culture, where the world went from having Sugar, We’re Goin Down on the radio to switching to four on the floor dance music. We had to put out a record in that context and it was so weird.”

In the brand-new winter issue of Kerrang! – which features their fellow tourmates Green Day on the cover – we catch up with frontman Patrick Stump while out on FOB’s incredible So Much For (Tour) Dust arena run to look back at all the different shows they’ve played over the years.
