Post Malone spends $1.6million to get real diamond fangs

According to celebrity dentist Thomas Connelly, Post Malone's new diamond fangs are essentially as "functional" as boring ol' regular teeth…

After Machine Gun Kelly painted his tongue black for last month's Billboard Music Awards, Post Malone has just one-upped him in the 'random mouth accessories' stakes.

Celebrity dentist Thomas Connelly has taken to Instagram to share his recent work on the rapper's teeth which involve two diamond fangs – with a total weight of 12 carats – at the cost of a whopping $1.6million (just over £1.1million). Thomas joined forces with cosmetic dentist Naoki Hayashi and Angel City Jewelers' Isaac Bokhoor for the job, telling Rolling Stone of the year-and-a-half-long project: "It’s very difficult to cut holes in diamonds without destroying them.

"In order to make a diamond in the shape of a tooth — for example, if you get a six-carat canine tooth, you need a 12-carat raw cube. So there’s a lot of waste. That diamond, they could have got three or four other diamonds out of it, so we had to waste it in order to get it into shape."

Surprisingly, the teeth will be fairly easy to clean; in fact, Thomas continues that Post can just brush as usual. "He’s now got two functional, full diamond teeth. They light up the room. They sparkle, they shine; they’re amazing."

The caption underneath Thomas' photo of his work on Post's teeth reads: "Post Malone completed his $1,600,000 smile reconstruction last weekend!! With a smile that shows off natural Porcelain Veneer work framed with 2 Diamond Fangs with a total weight of 12 Carats, Post Malone literally has $1 million smile!!!

"A collaborative between Dr. Connelly, @_naoki_hayashi_ , along with Isaac Bokhoor and his team of Diamond Cutters @bichachi_diamonds_la and Setters @angelcityjewelers, Post Malone's epic ICE smile has set a new precedent in the music world of who has the most 'Drip'."
