1. Poppy – Guardian

The third preview from Poppy's forthcoming Empty Hands album, dropping on January 23, packs a big ol' chorus and some big, crunchy nu-metal guitars. Which is a frequent feature in Poppy's toolbox these days, but she sounds particularly mahoosive here.

2. Guns N' Roses – Atlas

Not in this lifetime? It's taken the reunion Guns N' Roses less time to release new music than it did Axl to do Chinese Democracy. Atlas, dropped out of nowhere along with partner newie Nothin', is at the more slow-burning end of the Guns spectrum, drizzling swag and cool. Get learning it ready for Download.

3. TX2 feat. Black Veil Brides – The End Of Us

Now this is a pairing: rising emo types TX2 teaming up with Black Veil Brides for a song that's almost glacial in its scale and ambition. It's dramatic, too, without getting into the realms of total theatre. Timothy Evan Thomas and co are currently enjoying a very good rise. They'll be everywhere next year.
