New highlights
1. Motionless In White – Playing God (feat. Corey Taylor)
Now that is how you make a return. Some four years on from Motionless' last album Scoring The End Of The World, the Scranton savages are back with the punishing Playing God featuring Slipknot legend and Chris Motionless' hero Corey Taylor. Both frontmen trade brutalising barbs, seemingly trying to out-roar each other, and raging against social media bullshit, before dropping the superb 'lick the fucking dirt off my boots like a good dog,' mosh-call. Violence is guaranteed.
2. Converge – Doom In Bloom
Who'd have thought that in 2026 we'd get two Converge albums? And let's be honest, you can never have too much, even if it isn't exactly a jolly experience, as their signature discord drives the metallic hardcore ever-onward. Frontman Jacob Bannon explains that he's “exploring how my own middle-aged introspection doesn’t always bring a brighter light,” which might not give you that Friday feeling, but it's another absolute rager from one of the best to ever do it.
3. Movements – Dissolve Me
SoCal post-hardcore crew Movements will drop their fourth album this September, which they announced with two new singles, including this infectious, emo-inflected banger. “It's a sort of confession about my own social behaviours and the challenges I face in navigating even the smallest or most 'normal' everyday interactions,” says vocalist Patrick Miranda of first newie Dissolve Me. Not the cheeriest subject matter, but it comes loaded with catharsis and ready to belt out with your mates.
