Tool Are The First Band Ever To Have Songs In All Top 10 Spots On Billboard's Rock Sales Chart

Tool currently have all Top 10 tracks on Billboard's Rock Digital Sales Chart.

So far, progressive metal titans Tool have been owning the Hell out of the lead-up to their new album, Fear Inoculum. Adding their entire back catalog to music-streaming services at the same time as releasing their first new song in 13 years has ensured complete chart domination for the band. First, Tool's 2001 album Lateralus became the most downloaded album on iTunes; then, the band's new track Fear Inoculum becomes the longest song ever to enter Billboard's Hot 100. Now, Tool are the first band in history to have tracks in all Top 10 slots on a Billboard's Rock Sales Chart.

Here's the breakdown of Billboard's Rock Digital Sales Chart right now:

  • Sober
  • Fear Inoculum
  • SCHISM
  • Forty Six & 2
  • Stinkfist
  • Ænima
  • The Pot
  • Vicarious
  • Lateralus
  • Prison Sex
  • Sadly, the band's record breaks at 11, where Panic! At The Disco take the spot -- but it's worth mentioning that Tool have knocked them down ten notches from their #1 slot, and that there are five more Tool tracks in the Top 25.

This comes after the band revealed the full tracklisting of Fear Inoculum this morning. Here are the titles of the album's songs:

    1. Fear Inoculum
    2. Pneuma
    3. Invincible
    4. Descending
    5. Culling Voices
    6. Chocolate Chip Trip
    7. 7empest

Frontman Maynard James Keenan recently revealed why Fear Inoculum took so long to come out. In an interview on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, the singer said, “The four of us are a lot of fucking work, just to get anywhere, oh my God. Everything’s a fucking committee meeting and it always gets shut down...[The hurdle is] success. When you get successful, you think you’re right about everything and you’re pretty sure as that individual: ‘I am right and you are wrong, because I’m successful and we’re successful because of me, not because of you.’

"It’s not that bad with us, but there’s a dynamic of, like, ‘I want this and I’ve always gotten my way and that’s why we’re successful, because I don’t compromise on this or that.’ I’m the same way. I’m totally the same way.”
