Tool Reveal Fear Inoculum Tracklist
The tracklist for Tool’s upcoming album Fear Inoculum has been revealed.
Having released the title track last week, we now know that Tool’s fifth full-length is comprised of nine tracks – including Invincible and Descending, which the band have been performing live throughout the year.
The official tracklist for Fear Inoculum is as follows:
1. Fear Inoculum
5. Culling Voices
6. Chocolate Chip Trip
We have no idea what a Chocolate Chip Trip is, but it’s certainly a palate cleanser from the much more menancing titles of Culling Voices and Pneuma.
The digital release of the album also includes three bonus tracks: Litanie contre la Peur, Legion Inoculant and Mockingbeat.
Opening on the 10-minute Fear Inoculum is a bold move, but that’s exactly what you get with Tool. The song reached #93 in the Billboard Hot 100 the week after release, making it the longest ever track to make it into the chart. No doubt the LP will make an appearance following its release on August 30.

Frontman Maynard James Keenan recently revealed why the new record has taken so long. Speaking on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, he said: “The four of us are a lot of fucking work, just to get anywhere, oh my God. Everything’s a fucking committee meeting and it always gets shut down.
“[The hurdle is] success. When you get successful, you think you’re right about everything and you’re pretty sure as that individual: ‘I am right and you are wrong, because I’m successful and we’re successful because of me, not because of you.’ It’s not that bad with us, but there’s a dynamic of, like, ‘I want this and I’ve always gotten my way and that’s why we’re successful, because I don’t compromise on this or that.’ I’m the same way. I’m totally the same way.”
