Mike Shinoda co-wrote and produced Demi Lovato’s Scream VI single

Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda has revealed that he worked with Demi Lovato on new single Still Alive, which will be on the Scream VI soundtrack.

Last week, Mike Shinoda revealed that he had a new solo song coming out on the Scream VI soundtrack – but that’s seemingly not all he’s done for the movie…

The Linkin Park man has also just confirmed that he’s teamed up with Demi Lovato on her new single Still Alive, which will be released on March 3 and then also feature on the film’s soundtrack (Scream VI is due to hit cinemas on March 8).

“Proud to have co-written and produced this track for the one and only Demi Lovato,” Mike tweeted, linking to a presave of the single. “More music on the way.”

The link also takes you to the track’s artwork, which features Demi in the style of the Scream VI character posters that were recently unveiled.

Previously, Mike said of his own material and how Scream VI came about: “Up until this year, I’ve been doing a lot of writing and producing for other people. And I recently kind of got the bug to do it for myself again. I do have a new song that’s gonna be in the movie Scream. What happened is they had reached out about: ‘Will you help us with music for the movie?’ And in the conversation I played them something and they were like, ‘Oh my god, can we use that?’

“I didn’t plan it – I would never have been like, ‘Oh, we’re gonna put out this big Linkin Park thing [the Meteora 20th anniversary edition] and I wanna put my song out right on top of it!’ That’s not good planning for me,” he added. “But it’s great planning for Linkin Park fans, because there’s just more music – so I’ve got stuff I’ve produced that are other people’s songs, I’ve got my own song, and then we’ve got the Linkin Park stuff. And that’s not even everything we’re gonna be doing around this for Linkin Park fans. So it’s a great time to be a Linkin Park fan!”

Speaking of which, Linkin Park’s previously unreleased track Lost – which will also feature on the 20th anniversary edition of Meteora – is set to be the band’s highest-charting in the UK since their 2008 classic What I’ve Done.
