Terror team up with Chuck Ragan for new single, Fear The Panic
Watch the video for Terror’s new single Fear The Panic, featuring Hot Water Music man Chuck Ragan.
Hardcore stalwarts Terror continue banging the same drum, and bang it very well they do.
Scott Vogel has long proven himself one of the most righteously angry vocalists out there, doing so as the voice of Terror for more than 20 years now. Returning with the band's 10th full-length, he once again demonstrates that his ire has not been blunted over the decades, as the Los Angeles quintet unleash 10 tracks of balls-to-the-wall hardcore for their faithful to lose their minds to.
It's not unfair to state that the band have not exactly evolved over the years. You pretty much know what you're going to get from a Terror album, and Still Suffer more or less maintains this trend, but the attitude stamped all over the songs helps give them personality. Short and anything-but-sweet is the name of the game, as stomping opener Erase You From My World lets you know who's back for more, and the the mean-as-hell title-track and the frantic Death Of Hope do their damnedest to kick the shit out of you.
A bunch of guests help out, most affectively Hot Water Music's Chuck Ragan on Fear The Panic, and there's a brief digression into 'pretty' territory for the first minute or so of Beauty In The Losses, which seems somewhat incongruous but kind of works nonetheless. And if you want a few minutes of mellow hip-hop with the contents of Scott's voicemail splattered all over it as a bonus track then you're in luck, for this nugget of utter pointlessness is tacked onto the end.
If Still Suffer achieves anything, it's helping to prove hardcore's rude health in 2026, and that those making it while starting to grow a little long in the tooth remain a formidable force not to be underestimated. Turn it up, shave your head and mosh yourself stupid.
Verdict: 3/5
