“An invitation into my world…” ratbag releases debut EP, why aren’t you laughing?

Breakout alt. star ratbag is capping off a brilliant 2023 with the release of her debut EP.

Released today (December 8), the four-track offering goes by the name why aren’t you laughing?, and is described as the ‘first full look’ at this exciting new artist – who is joined by fellow mysterious musicians Deemo, Slug, Fritz and Eugene in her band.

“why aren’t you laughing? is your invitation into my world,” ratbag teases. “I’ve opened the door just a crack, enough for you to see the beginning of what’s going on. These four songs had been brewing in a big ol’ bowl of soup in my head and are now ready to be eaten, by you.

“It feels quite scary to hand over my songs,” she adds, “like I’m handing pieces of me to the world, but I think it’s equally as exciting. I hope you’re hungry.”
