Avenged Sevenfold announce Waking The Fallen and City Of Evil throwback show
Avenged Sevenfold will be treating their Deathbats Club fans to an intimate 25th anniversary show in a couple of months’ time…
Get the first glimpse at Avenged Sevenfold and AmazeVR’s in-the-works virtual reality experience, which has been described as a ‘cross between a music video, live concert and first-person video game’.
Avenged Sevenfold have revealed that they’re working on a new virtual reality concert, set to be unveiled in ‘early 2024’.
Developed by AmazeVR, the experience is described by the LA Times as ‘a cross between a music video, live concert and first-person video game’, with frontman M. Shadows telling the publication of why they’re doing it, “There’s always a barrier between the audience and us. You want to make sure that, though there’s going to be a lot of cool stuff going on, the people can get really close to you… and see you sing and see the drums.”
A new sneak-peek teaser clip of this special show hears a live version of the band’s Life Is But A Dream… track Mattel soundtracking a cryptic 24-second video, but that’s all we’ve got to go on right now…
Naturally the Huntington Beach metallers are putting a lot of thought and hard work into the project, however the singer also admits to the LA Times that, realistically, he doesn’t know if this endeavour is the future for music. For A7X, though, as always they just enjoy the challenge of doing something new.
“Is AmazeVR the place you want to go where you’re just having a beer on Saturday night and … you want to jump into something you wouldn’t actually go out of your way to drive there and do?” M. Shadows continues. “I think that’s interesting. I just am not willing to say that it’s been cracked yet. ... But I think these things are fun. It’s fun for us; it’s fun to explore.”
