Classic rock, hallucinogens, an Acid Bath collab – BRAT's take on Heart is as bananas as it sounds...
BRAT are telling blood-splattered stories of women's revenge on new album Manslayer - check out the title track below.
BRAT are expanding their bimboviolence sound and aesthetic with the upcoming album Manslayer and have shared its title track.
The follow-up to 2024 debut Social Grace is arriving on September 25 via Prosthetic/MNRK and revolves around concepts of women taking revenge in a brutal, bloody fashion, beginning with lead single Manslayer (Hell Hath No Fury).
Check it out below:
“We’re evolving the bimboviolence and the campiness by making it all a little bit darker with this album, and a bit more overtly violent,” says vocalist Liz Selfish on the album as a whole. “I think that will probably reflect in our stage show and our imagery as well, keeping it fun, not a total 180, but definitely progressing into something darker with it.”
This time around, Liz has taken over writing lyrics from guitarist and co-founder Brendan Moate.
“It’s quite new territory for me, and it wasn’t necessarily an intentional thing initially,” she explains. “I wrote the first song for the album, and I just loved writing, and I was like, ‘I really love doing this, and I want to do more, so I ended up writing the whole album. Brenner’s main focus is writing music – he wants to write riffs - so he wasn't too torn up about not writing the lyrics. It was a nice passing of the torch."
Manslayer’s tracklist is:
1. Intro
2. Aileen Wuornos
3. Speculum Bleed
4. Bone Spurs
5. Botch Tox
