Is Deathcore Dead?
Has deathcore – the genre that spawned Bring Me The Horizon and Suicide Silence – reached the end of the road?
Deathcore legends Carnifex are firing the starting gun on their new era with a new single and a new label in the form of Sumerian Records.
Carnifex are back with a new single, Roses & Rotting Corpses – and it’s properly nasty.
After a decade with Nuclear Blast, the deathcore legends have signed to Sumerian Records for the next chapter of the band, which kicks off with their first new release since their 2023 album Necromanteum. Chances are, there'll probably be more from the SoCal bruisers to come in the near future too.
“We’ve entered a new era of Carnifex, and we couldn’t be happier to do it with Sumerian Records,” they say. “Carnifex and the team at Sumerian have parallel histories going back nearly two decades, so to finally be working together on what will arguably be our best album is an incredible feeling. Our new song ‘Roses & Rotting Corpses’ is just the beginning of this next chapter.”
