Not for the first time this year, Fall Out Boy have been using their band fund to support important causes and do their bit for the community.

Following on from their $100,000 donation back in April for the COVID-19 Response Fund in their hometown of Chicago, the pop-rock titans are now pledging the same amount towards the Black Lives Matter movement, following the death of George Floyd and the protests that have since sparked across the world.

"When you discover rot deep within your house you don't just paint over it," Fall Out Boy say in a statement. "You dismantle it and rebuild a better house. We support the black community in the struggle against racial inequality, injustice, and police brutality by committing $100,000 from the Fall Out Boy Fund this summer. We will begin with donations to National Bail Out and Black Visions Collective."

They add: "We realize this is a marathon not a sprint and plan to continue and expand our support."

The last line of their statement was also a poignant statement from Pulitzer Prize-winning author Pearl S. Buck: "The young do not know enough to be prudent, and therefore they attempt the impossible, and achieve it, generation after generation."
