Forever Never Frontman Prepares For Charity Boxing Match

Renny Carroll, the frontman of Essex posi-metal mob Forever Never is set to enter into a boxing match to raise money for charity, in July.

The singer, who has never been in a fight in his life, is currently undertaking an intensive 10-week training program in a boxing gym, where he’s turned himself from “a regular slightly chubby guy into a lean athlete”.

He’s undertaking the challenge, to raise awareness of a rare disability called PhelanMcDermid Syndrome. And specifically, he’s raising money for 8-year-old Amber who suffers from the condition, which means she has no speech and severely low muscle tone, so she’s unable to walk or crawl, and will need 24-hour care for life.

The money raised from the fundraiser will pay for specialist physiotherapy and equipment to get Amber walking independently. Right now, she’s only able to take a few steps with the help of a walking frame.

Organised by Essex charity ‘Fight For…’ the event will take place on July 17, 2016 at Evoke in Chelmsford. The goal is to raise at least £5,000 for Amber.
