Racetraitor have unveiled a brand-new single, Pastoral Monolith,
featuring Dennis Lyxzén.
The band – vocalist Mani Mostofi, guitarists Dan
Binaei and Andrea Black, bassist R. Brent Decker and Fall Out Boy’s Andy Hurley
on drums – team
up with the Refused legend for their latest effort, which is taken from their
upcoming album Creation And The Timeless Order Of Things (due out on November
17).
Speaking about its meaning, they explain in a collective statement:
“The song is about the lasting and devastating impacts of British colonialism
in Nigeria. In the past few weeks, we have seen Israel’s attacks on Gaza which
also have their historical roots in British colonialism.
“The song features guest vocals from Dennis Lyxzén, who is a
longtime friend and co-conspirator of the band. The video has images and quotes
from various activists and artists who have fought back against colonialism,
settler colonialism, and their capitalist systems.”
