Crawlers have had to cancel all upcoming North American shows
With Jane’s Addiction going on hiatus and Crawlers’ support slot therefore no longer happening, the band have unfortunately also had to cancel their intimate headline dates, too.
Despite cancelling their tour and taking a break from the band on Monday, Jane’s Addiction’s original line-up have shared a new single entitled True Love.
Jane’s Addiction have just shared the second new single from their original line-up in 34 years.
Entitled True Love, the track arrives just two days after the band – vocalist Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins and bassist Eric Avery – cancelled their North American tour and went on hiatus following an onstage altercation last Friday night.
“To all the fans,” they said in a joint statement. “The band have made the difficult decision to take some time away as a group. As such, they will be cancelling the remainder of the tour. Refunds for the cancelled dates will be issued at your point of purchase – or if you purchased from a third-party resale site like StubHub, SeatGeek, etc, please reach out to them direct. Thank you, Jane’s Addiction.”
Dave, Stephen and Eric made their own comments on the situation, writing that, “Due to a continuing pattern of behaviour and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to discontinue the current U.S. tour. Our concern for his personal health and safety as well as our own has left us no alternative. We hope that he will find the help he needs.
“We deeply regret that we are not able to come through for all our fans who have already bought tickets. We can see no solution that would either ensure a safe environment onstage or reliably allow us to deliver a great performance on a nightly basis. Our hearts are broken. Dave, Eric and Stephen”
After that, Perry then shared the following: “This weekend has been incredibly difficult and after having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family and friends for my actions during Friday’s show. Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behaviour, and I take full accountability for how I chose to handle the situation.”
It remains to be seen what else will happen and if the band have any more new music on the way. But in the meantime, you can check out True Love below:
