Lamb Of God Are Teasing A New Single

Lamb Of God appear to be teasing that a new song will arrive tomorrow (February 6).

Last week, guitarist Mark Morton revealed that the groove metal titans will be releasing a new album later this year.

“2020 is going to be nuts – from Lamb Of God particularly," Mark said. "We’ve got new music coming soon and I really couldn’t be more excited about it.

“There’s a whole fresh new energy in the band and it’s our first recordings with Art Cruz. He’s been playing drums with us for a couple of years, but these are our first songs we’ve written and recorded with him."

And it looks like we'll soon be hearing the first of those new songs with Art in the form of a track called Checkmate.

The revelation came from an email to Lamb Of God's mailing list, which included handwritten lyrics to the song.

The band also tweeted a video of various US politicians and television pundits, edited together to 'speak' some of those lyrics including the words, 'Watch the gears grind off their teeth / The screeching halt machine digging heels in disbelief / Two reactional identities, opposing policies / A bait and switch routine.'

The Lamb Of God website has been reskinned to show various breaking news images of Bernie Sanders, Greta Thunberg, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. The hanging broken clock displays the date of February 6, so watch this space. Kerrang! will keep you up to date on all the latest Lamb Of God music news.
