Machine Head frontman Robb Flynn has revealed that he's recorded a solo album of covers under the guise of Robb Flynn & Friends.

The news came as a tidbit toward the end of a lengthy Facebook post by Robb himself as he reflected on all the ups and downs of 2019.

"There was some tough times this year," says Robb. "Frustrating bang-your-head-against-the-wall-kinda-tough-times. Crying-while-on-a-dog-walk-type of tough times. Wondering how were gonna get from Point A to Point B tough times. Having to let go of a lot of things I'd never need to let go of tough times. Heartbreaking moments of disappointment where I had to accept that some situations were never gonna be good, and the only choice was to move on with my life, or drown in someone else’s.

"But it wasn’t all bad.

"There many many things that were downright amazing, including a long overdue vacation to the Bahamas based islands Turks & Caicos with my family."

Robb goes on to list some of his own little and big accomplishments from the past 12 months, including losing 10 pounds, rebuilding a new band in 10 months, getting serious about the gym, starting a podcast and dropping new song Do Or Die.

But the one that caught Kerrang!'s eye was "Recorded a Robb Flynn & Friends solo album of covers". That's all the info we've got, so there's no official word on if the record will see the light of day any time soon, but if Machine Head's K! Pit performance is anything to go by then we're in for a full-throttle blast through of Sepultura's Roots, Alice In Chains' Angry Chair, Black Sabbath's Paranoid and much more.
