Dave Mustaine discusses the new Megadeth material potentially coming our way soon

Megadeth Might Be Releasing New Music Soon

Dave Mustaine has revealed that Megadeth could be releasing new music sooner rather than later.

At the start of 2019, Kerrang! reported that the frontman was hard at work on the follow-up to 2016's Dystopia. And, despite his cancer diagnosis this summer, Dave has been continuing to work in the studio "like a true warrior."

Now, in an interview with Rolling Stone, the Megadeth vocalist has revealed the band have written “nine really crushing songs," which he hopes to unveil ahead of the band's upcoming European tour with Five Finger Death Punch and Bad Wolves.

Earlier this year, Dave told Kerrang! that one of the songs Megadeth were working on was called The Dogs Of Chernobyl. He has now shared the titles of two more songs: Faster Than Anything Else and Rattlehead: Part Two.

Dave also spoke to Rolling Stone about working with bassist David Ellefson on a ballad.

“I said to him, ‘What was the biggest song that Kiss ever had?’ He goes, ‘Beth.’ I said, ‘Yeah, we should write a song like Beth, where it’s a ballad and it’s just you singing it.

“I think you should write a song about what it’s like being in Megadeth with me, because I read all your lyrics, and I know that your lyrics are aimed at me. You’re upset. So why don’t you write about it?’”

The as-yet-unnamed track is still in need of "fine-tuning" but will be released at some point.

Speaking about his cancer diagnosis last month, Dave said he was on "the other side of the majority of the treatment" and is already looking to hitting the road again.
