Metallica's Black Album celebrations keep on coming. Following the announcements of an unseen documentary, a collaboration with Vans, and (of course) the epic Blacklist album featuring the likes of Biffy Clyro, Phoebe Bridgers, Weezer, St Vincent and more, the thrash legends have just revealed details of a new, official Metallica podcast.

Simply titled The Metallica Podcast, the first series will look at, you guessed it, The Black Album. In the short trailer posted to social media, Lars Ulrich, James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett all lend their voices and opinions to the story of the biggest album in heavy metal history.

In the clip, interspersed with live and studio audio, we hear Lars describe the record as "the right combination of songs, the right combination of producer with the right combination of desire, tenacity, lineup of ideas..."

While we hear James speak about the power and appeal of Enter Sandman in bringing more fans into the Metallica family: "As long as you're hooked, it's good."

Volume 1 of The Metallica Podcast will run for eight episodes. Stay tuned for more info.
