Mike Shinoda Releases License To Waltz From Dropped Frames, Vol. 3

Ahead of the release of Dropped Frames, Vol. 3 on September 18, Mike Shinoda has unveiled the instalment's first song.

The track goes by the name License To Waltz, and – as per its title – is a really unusual mashing up of 8-bit videogame style noises… that you can ballroom dance to? Yep, really.

Speaking to Kerrang! following the release of Dropped Frames, Vol. 1 earlier this year, Mike explained of the Twitch project: "I think of it as just an extension of the livestream community, and the livestream experience. It's a nice marker; it's a nice touch point in terms of that, but, I mean, for those people that have watched the livestream, I don't expect even that everybody has watched an entire stream – from LA time I stream from 10am to 1pm, so they're three hours long, and I do them five days a week.

"People tune in, tune out, and we have a lot of fun, and these songs that are out now on streaming services in the form of Dropped Frames, Vol. 1 are kind of a snapshot of the first batch of things."
