Nova Twins’ 2025: “We’ve done quite a few bucket-list things this year. We’re enjoying the process of it all”

For Nova Twins, 2025 started big and then got even bigger. As they approach an end-of-year break, they’ve earned a rest. Here the band take us inside their mammoth 12 months, and how they’re planning to “spend Christmas lounging around in our pyjamas”.

In 2025, Nova Twins went beyond Supernova. After getting interrupted making their third album with such distractions as touring with Muse, this year they finally got Parasites & Butterflies out into the world. Another whirlwind year for Amy Love and Georgia South, then. Busy enough, in fact, to make you forget quite how much they've crammed in…

How would you say 2025 has treated you?
Georgia: “It's treated us well. I feel like this year’s actually felt quite long compared to others, because in January we were in LA, and then we did the MOBOs, and that feels like two years ago.”
Amy: “I feel the opposite! I feel like this year has gone quick. It was a really good year, though. We've been super busy, enjoying festivals, enjoying our headline shows and just enjoying just the progress and the process of it all.”
Georgia: “We did quite a few bucket-list things this year as well. We did Tiny Desk, which was a massive one. We always, always wanted to do it and we manifested it!”

What was that like as an experience?
Georgia: “It was wild, actually, because it really is just a tiny desk. It’s literally just an office space, so people are working in there like normal, and then we just have to play. People come in their lunch break to watch you, so it's super-chilled when you get in there, but obviously really nerve-wracking, because it is Tiny Desk.”
Amy: “You play really quietly. There’s a genius method [of recording] that's quite unusual for the band, but they record it really well in such a weird space. So that was really interesting to see that kind of behind-the-scenes process.”

It’s all been made possible with Parasites & Butterflies. What’s it been like to have it out in the world?
Amy: “There was a bit of a gap between Supernova and Parasites & Butterflies and we didn't release any music in between. We really wanted to give our audience new music, and we wanted to tour, and wanted to do it all, and was really excited to bring those songs to life in a live setting. New songs are always a little bit daunting when you start playing them first live, but then suddenly, when you're in the swing of it, it's the best feeling ever. The tour was such a moment. The O2 Forum [Kentish Town in London] was such a special show for us. Honestly, it felt incredible, and the sound in the venue is pretty fucking sick. It was a great one to finish on.”

The tour with Evanescence coming up is a massive thing, too – did you manifest that or did it come as a surprise gift from the universe?
Amy: “We did want to manifest a big tour!”
Georgia: “Especially an American tour. We haven't really done a big American tour, so we're very excited for that next year. We're going to spend most of the year with them. We've met Amy [Lee] before, and she's so lovely.”

It’s almost Christmas – how do you like to spend it?
Amy: “Christmas is quite chilled. I spent it with Georgia last year, and this year we’re doing the same.”
Georgia: “Usually we're in our pyjamas all day, and that’s perfect. We eat loads of food, play games, watch films and sing!”
Amy: “Your dad’s on the keys.”
Georgia: “Our speciality is Silent Night!”
