Nightwish Singer Gets An Actual Beetle Named After Her

It's not every day that you get a newly-discovered species of insect named after you, but it's happened to Nightwish vocalist Floor Jansen.

She took to Facebook yesterday (March 6) to announce that a man named Andreas Weigel had discovered a species of beetle and named it after her. He must be a big fan.

"This fine example of the endless forms most beautiful species on this green planet was discovered last year by Andreas Weigel," she wrote. "He named the beetle ‘Tmesisternus floorjansenae'.

"How special to have the honour of having a beautiful animal named after me."
