Sleep Token are looking into redistributing tickets that have been purchased by bots and scalpers for their North American headline tour – so watch this space…
It’s no surprise that Sleep Token’s recently-announced The Teeth Of God Tour with Empire State Bastard has sold out (or, in their own unique words, the tickets have “been swiftly depleted”), but the band have announced they’re working on getting more tickets out to genuine fans.
The masked stars have taken to social media to confirm that
tickets that have been bought by bots and scalpers are currently “being
identified and cancelled”, so that they can then be “redistributed
for genuine followers to procure”. They add that, “Please remain aware, should
you wish to attend.” (In other words, keep your eyes peeled because more
tickets will hopefully become available.)
When tickets for The Teeth Of God Tour went on sale, dealing with bots and scalpers wasn’t the only thing that Sleep Token fans had to deal with, though. Promoters AEG have addressed a technical error that meant people didn’t receive pre-sale codes in time, and therefore missed out on tickets entirely.
An email sent out (via Loudwire) explains what happened: “As a Sleep Token fan who took the time to register early for access to tickets, we know how committed you are to the band,” AEG say. “That’s something we don’t take lightly, and knowing that, we tried to provide you with early access to the presale as a reward for your loyalty.
“While our intentions were good, to put it simply: we failed. Our emails and sale codes were sent on time yet delivered to you late. And while there are many reasons for that, there’s no excuse. We let Sleep Token and you down. Since discovering the malfunctions, we have worked to provide codes to every fan that has contacted us.
“We value our fans and our artists and will continue to work to created the elevated experience you all expect and deserve. We are so very sorry we let you down.”
