Following the release of their new album Money Money 2020 Part II: We Told Ya So! in December 2020, The Network – who are totally not Green Day in disguise – are set to play on Jimmy Fallon this Friday.

The performance will be the band's first in a whopping 16 years, with their most 'recent' gig supporting Green Day (hmm… that's strange) in San Francisco on October 13, 2005.

The Network will join Paris Hilton and Queen Latifah on the episode, with NBC not revealing which song will be played, only stating of the booking: "The Network is a six-piece new wave band, rumored to be a secret project of the well-known band Green Day. They released their debut album Money Money 2020 in 2003. After a 15-year hiatus, the band released a follow-up album entitled Money Money 2020 Part II: We Told Ya So! in December 2020."

In an exclusive interview with Kerrang! last year, drummer/vocalist The Snoo said of the constant confusion between his band and Billie Joe Armstrong and co.: "Some people think we are Green Day, but those people have obviously not seen either band or they’d know who was the superior musical act.”

"We heard Green Day eats shit sandwiches, but it’s impossible because they don’t like bread," added vocalist/guitarist Mongo Fink. "That’s what I feel like when I hear their acoustic song Good Rodents. But serious, I kid the boys in Green Dan. Somehow they’ve pulled it off for 30 years. What’s next? A prequel to Kerplunk!? The pre-pubic hair years."

Yep, this is gonna be well worth watching…
