At The Drive-In Return!

At The Drive-In have announced a new album and a new tour.

In a year that’s already given us news of Guns N’ Roses‘ return, post-hardcore legends At The Drive-In have announced that they’ve re-reformed. It all started yesterday (Jan 20) as their Twitter account snapped back into life and the band posted a message for the first time since September 10, 2013, revealing a 15-second snippet of a new song. Following on from that tease, the band have now officially confirmed that they’re working on a new album and have booked in live appearances, including UK dates.

While the band have, of course, already reformed once after first splitting up way back in March, 2001 – they joined fellow reborn legends Refused at Coachella festival in 2012 and toured afterwards – there has been no activity since they played a final show at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on August 28, 2012. The sense, then, is that because they’re actually working on their first new music together since 2000’s classic Relationship Of Command, this time they mean really business.

In news every bit as exciting, At The Drive-In have also confirmed a series of tour dates, starting with a one-off show at the Hollywood Fonda Theatre on March 23. The band will then go on to do a European trek starting with shows at Dublin Vicar Street on March 26 and London Roundhouse on March 27.

This is what is coming our way, people. Brace yourselves.
