My Chemical Romance Appear To Be Teasing A UK Show
The band posted the following to their official Twitter, with just the Union Jack emoji for a caption:
Please let it be so.
This is of course not the only reunion show that My Chemical Romance have announced — the band has also revealed that they’ll be headlining Download Japan in March (and, as of recently, playing a one-off headlining date in Osaka) as well as playing Download Australia and a one-off show in New Zealand. This, however, is the first anyone has heard about a UK show. Whether it also signals further live performances around the world remains to be seen.
It’d be unsurprising that the band would schedule even more shows, if only because of the outpouring of love from fans that they’ve seen surrounding their comeback gig. Speaking to Kerrang!, one MCR fan said, “They create a space that’s really inclusive. They’ve always advocated for our community, since the early 2000s, when it wasn’t as common to do so. They make their fans feel like they can be their true authentic selves.”
In case this does signal a UK show, here’s the setlist from the band’s reunion gig, to give one an idea of what they might hear during a 2020 My Chemical Romance set:
I’m Not Okay (I Promise)
Thank You For The Venom
Give ‘Em Hell, Kid
House Of Wolves
You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison
Our Lady Of Sorrows
Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)
I Don’t Love You
Famous Last Words
The Kids From Yesterday
Welcome To The Black Parade
